Employment Visa

Employment Visa is granted to those who wish to take you employment and volunteer work in India. The duration of Employment Visa would be for the period of employment/volunteer work, which will usually not exceed one year at a time. An employment visa is also issued to those reforming or articulating in an event and to all entertainers. Those traveling to India for volunteer work with a Non-governmental organization (NGO) must tally for an employment visa. Spouse and dependent family members accompanying the applicant must tally for an Entry visa (NOT Tourist visa), co-terminus with the period of the principal visa holder.

The duration of Employment Visa would be for the period of employment/volunteer work, which will usually not exceed one year at a time. Further extension of you to 5 years may be obtained from MHA/FRRO in the concerned state in India.

Applicant intending to do volunteer, work with charities or non-profit organizations must include a letter from the sponsoring organization in India on letterhead indicating the nature and the duration of the visit and lace of work and the same letter signed by authorized signatory. The letter from the sponsoring organization needs to state weather the applicant will be a aid or non-aid intern.

Requirements for Employment Visa

  1. Appointment Letter: Appointment letter from the employer giving information about the salary. The salary must be USD 25,000 per year.
  2. Employment Contract: Copy of the Employment Contract between employee and employer. The letter must be detailed and comprehensive.
  3. Resume: Resume with relevant credential.
  4. Incorporation Certificate: roof of registration of the organization/copy of Incorporation certificate of the Indian company.
  5. A tax liability letter from the company in India, which must certify that the Indian company should be liable/take responsibility for paying taxes on behalf of the applicant.
  6. Letter from the employer in India certifying that applicant is a skilled and qualified professional, technical exert, senior executive or in a managerial position and applicant skills are not available to India.
  7. Applicant intending to do volunteer, work with charities or non-profit organizations must include a letter from the sponsoring organization in India on letterhead indicating the nature and the duration of the visit and lace of work and the same letter signed by authorized signatory.
