Following two new categories of Visa have been introduced
Intern Visa: This category is for persons intending to pursue internship in NGOs, companies and Educational Institutions in India. The internship has to be immediately after completion of graduation/post graduation. The period of internship will be one year or less. The foreign interns in company should draw a minimum remuneration of Rs.7, 80,000 per annum. However, there is no minimum salary limit in case of internship in Educational institutions/NGOs. The earnings from internship will be subject to Indian Income Tax Regulations. Company/Organization concerned will have to furnish undertaking ensuring departure of the foreign Intern on completion of the internship. Grant of Intern visa to applicants doing internship in NGOs will be subject to clearance of concerned authorities which may take around 6-8 weeks.
Film Visa: Persons wishing to shoot a feature film/reality TV show and /or commercial TV serials have to file their applications with the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India. Film/Project specific visa will be issued subject to the fulfillment of the required conditions and after the approvals of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, GOI have been obtained.
