Seminar on “Promoting Entrepreneurship & Innovation in India” held

Prime Minister Modi’s ambitious Startup India programme aims to fill gaps in the economy for the growth and development: Consul General

 The Consulate General of India, Chicago in partnership with TiE Midwest, Chicago chapter organized a seminar on “Promoting Entrepreneurship & Innovation in India” at the Consulate premises on September 15, 2016. The event was attended by about 70 business leaders, entrepreneurs, members of various chambers of commerce of US Midwest and media persons. The event was addressed was Dr. Ausaf Sayeed, Consul General of India, Chicago, Mr. Bala Palamadai, CEO, Bizofit and President, TiE Midewest, Ms. Neelu Arora, Chief Information Officer and Chief Knowledge officer, Aon Corporation, Mr. Piyush Singh, CEO, Terrene Labs, Mr. N. Shridhar, Managing Director, Pegasus Fininvest Advisory & Director Hiranandani Group, Ms. Nin Desai, CEO, Nin Ventures and Mr. Narendra Kale, Serial Entrepreneur and Founder of Bhau Institute, Pune.

Consul General Dr. Ausaf Sayeed said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ambitious Startup India programme aims to fill gaps in the economy for the growth and development of startups and to boost digital entrepreneurship at the grassroots. StartupIndia has brought lots of positivity among the entrepreneurs in India and as of now India has the third largest number of start-ups globally. Mr. Bala Palamadai spoke about the efforts of TiE Midwest in bringing the entrepreneurs together for better networking. Ms. Neeru Arora elaborated the role of Aon Corporation in promoting entrepreneurship as Aon is the leading global provider of risk management, insurance and reinsurance brokerage, and human resources solutions and outsourcing services. Through its more than 72,000 colleagues worldwide, Aon serves in over 120 countries via innovative and effective risk and people solutions. The other speakers too informed the audience about different approaches and aspects for promoting entrepreneurship and innovation in India. Mr. Narendra Kale narrated his own journey of becoming a prominent business person from a layman by following a disciplined approach while taking risks while promoting entrepreneurship in his life. Mr. Kale has also contributed in formulation of policies pertaining to startups and innovation in India.

During the course of the event, the Speakers also answered the questions asked by the audience on the topic of the seminar.
